Antoine Dodson Performing At The 2010 Bet Hiphop Awards

Antoine Dodson of 'Bed Intruder' fame made his live debut on Tuesday's telecast of the BET Hip Hop Awards, and we must confess, the guy can actually carry a tune! Dodson, whose odd and unintentionally hilarious interview to an Alabama news crew over the summer was turned into a catchy song by a family of Brooklyn hipsters, delighted the adoring audience with an abbreviated version of the track.

Wearing his familiar red bandanna and a frame-hugging ensemble, the grinning Dodson was accompanied by one of the song's composers, Michael Gregory of the Gregory Brothers. The crowd absolutely lost it when the Huntsville native hit the stage, and the camera caught several stars singing and dancing along.

Later, he told TheRoot.com that he wasn't looking to be on the show, but couldn't resist.

"I am not desperate at all. I don't call people and say, 'Hey, I want to be on your show.' They reached out to me and said, 'You are the hot topic right now, so we want you to be on the show.'"

By now, you're probably familiar with the little news report that could -- an intruder broke into a Huntsville, Alabama, home, climbed into bed with a resident and tried to assault her before making a swift, if clumsy, getaway. A local news station interviewed the victim and her brother, Antoine, who gave a now classic warning to the intruder and advised locals to "Hide your kids, hide your wife and hide your husband, too."

The clip found its way to YouTube, where it took off at viral speed, catching the attention of The Gregory Brothers, who saw potential in Dodson's words and soon applied their catchy, auto-tuned vision to the rant. Already a name in the YouTube world with their popular web-series Auto-tune the News, the Gregory Brothers' 'Bed Intruder Song' is now a hit on iTunes and has charted on Billboard.

The song has garnered over 31 million views on YouTube and sold more than 100,000 downloads on iTunes, where it reached No. 3 on the R&B chart, leading it to the 89th slot on the Billboard Hot 100. The Gregory Brothers are sharing all profits from the song with Dodson, who hopes his new-found celebrity status could be his family's ticket out of the projects.

Cranky Lady on the Metro North & The Harlem 125th Street Stop

Well talk about a day that gets your blood boiling early on. Today was that day for me. This lady on the train who missed her stop at Harlem 125th Street goes on and on about how I made her miss her stop to anyone and everyone who will listen. Now normally I would have just brushed it off but I hadn't even had my morning coffee this morning so she was definitely going to get hers.

Let me take you through this journey. I get up to stand at Yankees 153rd Street - you know the new station that's attached to the over priced Yankees Stadium. Well anyways, I get up to stand at that point nearly every day because it's only one more station stops until Grand Central and I like to stretch my legs and perhaps even offer my seat up to someone who may have been standing. We get to Harlem 125th Street and as usual the door opens and anyone who was to get out can get out. But not Conchita (that's what I've named her) she just stands behind me and doesn't move. Mind you I'm not blocking the way or anything but to hear her tell it later you'd think I was guilty of holding her back at gun point.

So the door closes AND THEN she springs into action "Oh Oh the doors are closing" (yeah they normally do after opening and letting people off - we got a rocket scientist here) she says and then jets for the door as it is closing. She doesn't make it and a fellow passenger tells her to "press the button" well she presses the wrong button for the intercom and NOT to stop the train. (see this is why one should speak and read ENGLISH because had she understood she could of pushed the right button) The doors close an we are on our way to Grand Central. This is when Conchita decides to try and use me as the object of her hatred for the mistake SHE made.

She goes on and on about how I was in her way. "Really!?" I say - "I was in YOUR way? I was off to the side here AND would have moved had you said excuse me or you could of just gone around". Well at that she gives me a look that could of stopped time. I guess Conchita is not used to being questioned. So I continued "Yeah you could have gone around and made your stop..." But Conchita would have more to say. She started in trying to get everyone to pity her which might have worked had she not begun to through racial and gender based slurs at me.

In the current climate of bullying and people being attacked for their sexual orientation, Conchita had just stepped in the poo so-to-speak and was loosing credibility faster than Carl Paladino. It was obvious to me that this woman was a bigot of the worst kind. So when we arrived at Grand Central I made a point to say when the doors opened "Ok everyone put one foot in front of the other and WALK - look, and we're walking... we're walking..."

Conchita most certainly didn't like that someone had stood up to her in her attempt to place the blame of her own mistakes on them. And now she was looking to make her last stand. Too bad for her because it wasn't much of a stand at all. She looks back at me as we are going up the ramp and says "You know what your problem is... you know what your problem is... You're a faggot... a faggot!"

Hmmm, Really!? Is that the best you can do? I thought to myself. And yet it was sad that in this day and age people feel the need to go there. In a climate where people bully people because they are different or because of their sexual preference Conchita sure did show her true colors and they were shining through. It wasn't for me that felt bad but for the fellow lady train rider walking behind me because I could see first hand what she goes through because she IS gay. Her disgust was written all over her face at what Conchita had said and I had to second that emotion. A person should not be judged based on their sex, religion, creed or sexual orientation and this is something that Conchita could take a lesson in.

Sadly to say Conchita will probably go on and be an ass to people for years to come but for Conchita I've included this picture above - it's of the Harlem - 125th Station stop. The next time you see it be sure to get off at it and if the spirt moves you JUMP!

A day of Splitsville announcements ....

Seems that Christina Aguilera and her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, have split, as have Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

A source close to Aguilera says the couple "have been separated for a few months."

Aguilera and Bratman met in 2002 and married in a lavish ceremony in 2005. The pair have not yet filed for divorce but "are now living apart, and they will see how that goes." "They were very much in love, but over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife," the source explains. They remain united in their commitment to their son, Max, 2. "He is their main concern," according to the source.

After 11 years of marriage, Courteney Cox and David Arquette have decided to separate. Cox and Arquette have been living apart for a few months. The couple released a statement regarding the breakup. "We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage."

It continued, "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply."

Cox and Arquette have a daughter together, 6-year-old Coco. The actors met on the set of the 1995 film 'Scream.' They married in 1999. Ironically, they are set to appear together in 'Scream 4,' which is due out in April of next year.

Outlaw Cancelled

This was actually a good show if you ask me but NBC has officially pulled the plug on Jimmy Smits’ struggling rookie procedural Outlaw. The Friday-night legal drama, which was already on a production hiatus, will be replaced by a second hour of Dateline. The final four episodes will air Saturdays at 8 pm beginning this week. Any questions?

Vanilla Ice - From Rapper to House Flipper Gold

Vanilla Ice was once a punch line for bad rap jokes.

These days, the rapper, who in 1990 had the hit "Ice Ice Baby," is laughing all the way to the bank.

And he's doing so by dropping hot words like "earth tones" and "travertine."

That's right. Vanilla Ice, born Robert Van Winkle, is a home remodeler and his show "The Vanilla Ice Project" launches Thursday at 9 p.m. on the DIY Network.

"I've been flipping homes for about 10 years," he says. "I enjoy it. I like to sit back and cross my arms and think, 'Look at what I've accomplished.' "

Like his outsized stage personality, Vanilla Ice doesn't take on small projects. Indeed, he tends to ply his building trade in tony neighborhoods in Florida, like Palm Beach, where Donald Trump has properties.

The show emerged after a producer noticed a mention of the rapper's home projects in a larger BIO channel profile. The deal came together quickly and just as Vanilla Ice was closing on a $1 million home that needed work.

"The house was completely gutted, like a hurricane hit it," he says. "Everything in the entire house was gone, even the carpet, which made it work perfectly for television."

Having a blank canvas, he was able to put in stuff he normally wouldn't, like an expensive home theater and a sound system.

"I actually get in there and swing a hammer with the guys, so to speak," he says. "It saves money, and I know what's going on."

Still, for some Vanilla Ice fans, seeing him painting or talking about which type of palm tree to use can be a little disconcerting.

"I do it with knowledge of our market," he says. "I do it with earth tones and I make it appeal to the masses; I make it appeal to the demographics that can afford this home. I do it with class."

That's a big step from the guy who once was the class clown of rap. He hit it big in 1990 with "Ice Ice Baby." He then got frustrated by the way his image was being manipulated by the record company. Eventually, he tried to change his image, but his records didn't do well. He struggled with drugs, attempted suicide and tried a comeback by appearing on "The Surreal Life."

"It's just a hobby," he says of the home show. "I play 100 concerts a year. I make good investments here. I've never left the music industry."

He knows there are viewers who will tune in because they're fans of the genre, while others will see the conflicting image of Vanilla Ice working on a wood floor.

The first season of the show is based around the makeover of one home in Palm Beach. They're already talking about a second season that will include a home that has a water feature that goes through the property and can ferry people floating on tubes while they're drinking piƱa coladas.

"I'm on top of the world right now," he says. "Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery. I am who I am because of who I was. I basically just take it day by day. I'm enjoying myself. I have a little more wisdom now. More stability. I'm enjoying the ride right now."
