'My Name is Earl' will NOT live on

Talk about lousy karma.

Despite reports that TBS was on the verge of rescuing My Name is Earl from NBC's scrap heap, a spokesperson for Twentieth Century Fox Television confirms that the Emmy-winning comedy is officially dead.

In a statement, the studio rep said, "While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series. As none of us, [series creator] Greg [Garcia] included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work."

It would have been nice if NBC could have wrapped the series up in lets say a 2 hour movie event where Earl goes through the whole list.  We wouldn't necessarily need to see him do everyone - perhaps 3-4 people and just have him ramble out the names of others that he helped also in the interim.  Now that would be closure and I just can't understand how networks can't work that into their plans to cancel a show.  Given enough time writers and producers can always craft a story to satisfy the fans.

David Letterman Slammed For Sex Jokes About Palin's Teen Daughter

Letterman, in his monologue Tuesday night, noted that the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate attended a Yankees game during a trip to New York City, where she was honored by a special needs group. Letterman referred to Palin, Alaska's governor, as having the style of a "slutty flight attendant."

The "Late Show" host also took a shot Palin's daughter, while poking fun at the Yankees' third baseman.

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game," Letterman said, "during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."  But an even more disturbing fact, which Letterman may not have known, was that the daughter who accompanied Palin on her trip to New York was 14-year-old Willow — not 18-year-old Bristol, the unwed mother of Palin's first grandchild.

Now, many critics — including the Palins themselves – are slamming Letterman for jokes that they say make light of sexual abuse of an underage girl.

I think that Letterman needs to grow up a bit.  There are certain things that are off limits no matter what your celebrity status and he had no right to go after Sarah Palin's children.  Not to mention Sarah was in NY on a very positive initiative.  She was working for children with special needs and the autism walk in Purchase, NY.

I applaud you Sarah for your hard work in bringing attention to children with special needs!

Shanna Moakler's "Faith Restored" After Carrie Prejean Loses Her Crown

Shanna Moakler is speaking out after Donald Trump fired Miss California Carrie Prejean Wednesday for breach of contract.

"First and foremost, my faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with [pageant owner] Donald Trump," Moakler -- who resigned her position as Miss California pageant director last month.

"I believed eventually what I intimately knew would come to fruition," continues Moakler.

Pageant director Keith Lewis announced that Prejean, 22, lost her crown because she failed to honor her commitments (she apparently skipped multiple pageant appearances). She will be replaced by runner-up Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, effective immediately.

Trump -- who originally allowed Prejean to keep her crown despite revelations that she had posed in her underwear as a teen -- said he was standing by Lewis' decision.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in a statement. "Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen, and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision."

Carrie,

Although I do not agree with your directive nor is this letter an indication of our intent to waive our contract rights, we do not want to escalate the situation with you. In good faith, we will simply ask that you provide us all of the details so that we can block it in on our master calendar. We would also want to get the contact information should something come up - like you become missing after the event or you are in an accident before the event and need us to reach out for you. It is for your safety and our responsibility.

Best regards,

Carrie,

The Style Network has asked to schedule a general meeting. Generals in the entertainment field are an opportunity for casting and producing executives to gain a better understanding of a potential talents range and demeanor in order to consider them for future projects. They are done without a specific agenda. I have had great success with my actors who have taken generals and would suggest you give it strong consideration. You never know where it may lead and sometimes they develop entire shows around you. The following days are available to meet with them here in LA. Please let me know as soon as possible if any of them work for you.

Best regards,

Keith Lewis

Johnny Palermo dies in car accident

Actor Johnny Palermo has died after being involved in a car crash in North Hollywood June 8.

Palermo’s girlfriend Alessandra Giangrande, who was driving the vehicle, was also killed in the accident. Details relating to the possible cause of the accident have not been revealed, although unconfirmed reports suggest that it was a single vehicle accident.

27 year old Palermo appeared in more than 30 TV shows, including Everybody Hates Chris, How I Met Your Mother, CSI, Cold Case, General Hospital and Rules of Engagement. Palermo was a regular on the Nickelodeon series “Just for Kicks”

Big news for Mad Men fans

First, everyone has been wondering when season three of the AMC show would start. A lot of people have been speculating late summer, and then the network said it would be August, but now we have a definite date. The third season will bow on Sunday, August 16 at 10PM.

And if you still haven't seen season two for some reason (AMC doesn't have any episodes online and the DVD set won't be out until next month), you're in luck there too: the network is going to show an all-day marathon a week before season three starts, on August 10. It will start at 7AM. Season two is also going to be available OnDemand starting July 20.

STOP! Hammertime!

MC Hammer truly is too legit to quit. He's back in the spotlight, this time with a new reality TV show on A&E called -- what else? -- ' Hammertime' (premieres Sun., June 14 at 10PM ET).

In the show, Hammer (real name: Stanley Burrell) introduces the world to his family and friends, including his wife, six kids, a nephew and "Cousin" Marv, part of his entourage, all the while Tweeting as he goes about his day.  And if you're just dying for a fashion flashback, don't worry -- he promises us his infamous pants will make an appearance too.   I wonder if they'll be any surprise guests say like Vanilla Ice or perhaps the living part of Milli Vanilli?
