Obama Teleprompter Breaks Mid-Speech
He apparently learned a bit from what happened on the campaign trail where he couldn't even string a sentence together without the teleprompter.
DEBBIE ROWE DROPS CUSTODY FIGHT - $4M MOTHER LODE FOR MICHAEL JACKSON EX?
Get this, Michael Jackson's baby mama Debbie Rowe has sold her kids again -- this time squeezing about $4 million from her former mother-in-law in exchange for giving up her parental rights, a family source told The Post yesterday.
"It's one final payday," the disgusted Jackson confidant said.
The family isn't happy about the mega-payout -- which was set to be sealed in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon -- but they consider it a necessary evil, the source said.
"They felt it was like a ransom-type thing. [Rowe] jumped back into the picture because she wanted money," the friend said.
If this is indeed true it just disgusts me that this woman would do such a thing. Leave the kids be already and stop trying to make money off of them. It's apparent that while she was paid handsomely by Jackson before he died that she decided to go against that agreement since a judge had overturned her giving up her parental rights before.
Romo/Simpson Split: Tony Was Bored With Jessica and Papa Joe?
Pop diva Jessica Simpson said last year that she had the same dreams as "every normal person" to make records, babies and "hopefully get married soon." But it looks like that won't be happening any time soon with her now ex-boyfriend Tony Romo.
So do you think that Papa Joe had anything to do with this? Was he meddling in way too much as rumors suggest? Not that I care much but at least it's news which doesn't have Obama's name tied to it. LOL
Longoria loves Heineken, but she's not selling it to chicks
Eva Longoria sells women swimsuits from Bebe and hair color from L'Oreal. But can she sell beer from Heineken?
That was the question on my mind when I read that Longoria had been announced as the new spokesperson for Heineken Light -- she'll star in a television commercial set on the sidelines of a basketball game. Genius, I thought. Longoria is a gorgeous yet relatable star with broad appeal. The basketball theme's a no-brainer -- she's there in the front row, cheering on husband Tony Parker, at almost every Spurs game. And the product fits -- a lower-calorie beer, something that many women might be willing to listen to Longoria talk about. Except that she won't be talking to them.
When I watched this behind-the-scenes video about the commercial, I pieced together the full arc of the ad. Longoria may be there, looking fabulous, but she's part of a prize package. Two guys get upgraded, unexpectedly, to seats on the floor; they get to taste the delicious new Heineken Light, and they get to sit next to the gorgeous Longoria. The look in their eyes says it all: Score!
Here's one reason why 2009 (and 2010) could be even better years for beer companies to take Bryson's advice: beer is cheap. In a climate like this, women are thinking twice before blowing $30 on mojito fixings. So, Heineken, capitalize: keep Eva on for a second campaign, and give her a script that speaks to her own gender.
Wells Fargo Bank Sues Itself
You can't expect a bank that is dumb enough to sue itself to know why it is suing itself.
"Due to state foreclosure laws, lenders are obligated to name and notify subordinate lien holders," said Wells Fargo spokesman Kevin Waetke. Now of course after seeing the article written by Al Lewis I once again found myself scratching my head and asking; Why in the world did we as a nation help Wells Fargo in the first place?
This is a perfect example of a bank deemed "to big to fail" being given government bailout funds and then not helping the people who in effect now own a good percentage of the company until said debt is paid back. With such behavior one has to question whether Wells Fargo knows how to handle the money it has already received.
Throughout the internet one can find numerous complaints filed by customers who have gotten no assistance with loan modifications, mortgage refinancing and the like over the past few years. And yet Wells Fargo has partaken of the pot of gold distributed out by our government for at risk banks.
I encourage you all to review the article at the following link and let me know what you think. Also for your viewing pleasure I've attached the link to the consumer complaints page on Wells Fargo as well.
