'Desperate Housewives' - The Plane, The Plane!!!

Get ready my fellow Desperate viewers because this November the most dangerous street in America will be the site of yet another calamity, this time a neighborhood plane crash.

“It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season,” series creator Marc Cherry says of the tragedy, which, he adds, will “affect everyone’s lives.”

Since the story is still in the planning stages, many of the biggest details — including who’ll be on board the small aircraft and who’ll be in its path — are still, as it were, up in the air. But this much Cherry confirms for sure: The catastrophe will not claim the life of a housewife. “I’d love to kill somebody ’cause that’s just what I do,” he laughs. “But the truth is, right now I don’t have anyone major dying."

See you all back here as November approaches...

Todd Palin Resigns From Oil Job

Todd Palin has quit his oil field job on the North Slope, the AP reports:

Todd Palin's resignation as a production operator for oil giant BP PLC comes almost two months after his wife stepped down as Alaska governor and shortly before the release of her highly anticipated memoir.

BP spokesman Steve Rinehart says Todd Palin's resignation was effective Sept. 18.

Meghan Stapleton, Sarah Palin's personal spokeswoman, says Todd Palin hopes to return to his union job and for now is spending time with his family.

Like his wife's surprising resignation, this appears to be a change of plans. From an interview last July:

Todd Palin did say that Alaska would remain their home base and indicated that, despite the millions that may come their way after his wife leaves office, he had no plan to give up his blue-collar jobs.

"I'll always be a fisherman, I'll probably always be out working on the slope," he said, alluding to his oilfields job in the state's far-northern tier.

SNL: Scarlett Johansson Joins Ryan Reynolds For SNL (VIDEO)

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds go out of their way to keep their year-old marriage private, barely talking about it and almost never being photographed together, but she none-the-less showed up on 'Saturday Night Live' this week when he hosted.
Early in the show she did a sketch as a porcelain fountain saleswoman, and later in show was standing at her husband's side, beaming, during the credits at the end (as seen in photo below video).

SNL: Madonna and Lady Gaga Fight in Lingerie

Yes, the Material Girl and the girl known for unusual material - singer and strange style icon Lady Gaga - had a hair-pulling, name-calling catfight... but it was all in the name of comedy. Madonna was one of a number of surprise guests on this week's 'Saturday Night Live,' during which Lady Gaga performed as the scheduled musical act. The two popped up at the end of recurring sketch 'Deep House Dish,' dressed in matching black lingerie.

Madonna's appearance wasn't the only surprise 'SNL' had in store. With host Ryan Reynolds in the house, it wasn't a shock to the audience when actress Scarlett Johansson arrived to reprise her role as local Long Island commercial spokeswoman Lexi. Unexpectedly, Elijah Wood made a quick cameo, and former 'SNL' cast member Darrell Hammond joined the Weekend Update for a quick turn as California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

But perhaps the greatest surprise of the evening was Lady Gaga's second song, in which the artist donned a moving gyroscope in lieu of a dress. The singer had to adjust the metal pieces of her costume to sit at the piano, then delivered a long, lounge-style version of her own song 'Poker Face,' peppered with greetings to the audience and some love notes to her native New York.
