Keira Knightley 'Hates' Twitter & Facebook

Britney, Demi and Ashton might love Twitter and stars like Lindsay and Miley are constantly updating their Facebook statuses – but don't expect Keira Knightley to come to the online celebrity party.

"I hate the Internet," "The Pirates of the Caribbean" star told Britain's Daily Telegraph on Monday.

The actress said being chained to e-mail and Twitter accounts makes her feel like less of a person.

"I find it dehumanizing to constantly check e-mails or social sites which have become so fashionable," she continued.

Keira might not be logging many hours in front of a computer screen, but the actress did admit to spending a few in front of the small screen.

She told the paper she's "obsessed" with the British soap opera "Emmerdale" and FX's "Nip/Tuck."

She also insisted that despite her career as an actress, that she's not wrapped up in the fame game of Hollywood.

"I am not a celebrity. I don't go home or out with my friends saying I'm a celebrity, and I don't ask to be treated like a queen," she explained.  Adding, "My mum and dad would not like that."

I think our dear Kiera makes a good point about all this Twittering and Facebooking. Kinda feels a bit impersonal.  So what are your thoughts?

MTA Fare-Hike Facebook Group Hits 60K Members

Fare-hike revolt rises up on Facebook

The 1,000,000 People Against the NYC MTA Fare Hike Facebook group started with a mere 1,000 members just a week ago, but has already risen to nearly 60,000 angry MTA riders in just a few days.

Its co-creators, 32-year-old Mellisa Pegus and 39-year old teacher Lisa Wildenberger, are encouraging their members to spread the word to both friends and politicians -- namely Senator Pedro Espada, Jr., Senator Carl Kruger and Senator Ruben Diaz.

“We both read all the (service cuts) and got really pissed off,” Pegus said to Urbanite.

One group member is even calling for a city-wide MTA boycott, to take place today, "to show in statistics just how much of a drop in daily income the MTA will lose by raising the fares in May." However, group members are split over that one, recommending other tactics in the comments that range from "jump the turnstyles" to "not buying metro cards" or "losing" their monthly cards and asking for full reimbursement.

The group's co-founders, however, ask that people maintain their patience. "Let our numbers grow and we will set a date," they write. "So stay tuned." For now, they just want to keep those numbers rising for their chance to knock the MTA fees down. Other group founders include: Bill Hughes, Amird Darvish and Noam Tidha.

To be fair to the MTA we have to make mention that this problem is more than MTA related.  There are State Senators and other quarreling government representatives who both know little about the system they're 'supporting' and even less on how to finance it involved in the mix.  Using the MTA services myself I think that we should not only let the MTA know about our displeasure but write, call and petition our state and local representatives to put the necessary pressure on Albany to get a deal through that appeases all sides.  So what are your thoughts?

Mike Tyson Documentary

Tyson is acclaimed indie director James Toback's stylistically inventive portrait of a mesmerizing Mike Tyson. Toback allows Tyson to reveal himself without inhibition and with eloquence and a pervasive vulnerability. Through a mixture of original interviews and archival footage and photographs, a startlingly complex, fully-rounded human being emerges.

The film ranges from Tyson’s earliest memories of growing up on the mean streets of Brooklyn through his entry into the world of boxing, to his rollercoaster ride in the funhouse of worldwide fame and fortunes won and lost. It is the story of a legendary and uniquely controversial international athletic icon, a figure conjuring radical questions of race and class.

In its depiction of a man rising from the most debased circumstances to unlimited heights, destroyed by his own hubris, TYSON emerges as a modern day version of classic Greek tragedy.

TYSON

Seems to be getting some good buzz.  What do you think?  What lessons can be learned from the career of Mike Tyson and many other athletes who have been held up on pedal stools only to come tumbling down?  Do we hold them to a much higher standard and is it really fair?

Check Out Lindsay Lohan's eHarmony 'Ad'

Lindsay Lohan may have had her share of problems, but she hasn't lost the ability to laugh at herself. In a new video posted at funnyordie.com, she parodies the ubiquitous ads for the dating service eHarmony.

"Hi, My name is Lindsay, and I'm looking for love. I'm recently single ... I think," she says, referring to her recent split with Samantha Ronson. "I'm looking for someone I can spend the rest of my life with ... or at least the rest of my probation."

Lohan also references her DUI arrests by referring to herself as "a workaholic, a shopaholic, and, according to the state of California, an alcoholic."

In the video, she asks potential suitors if they can handle a "redhead with a little bit of sass, and by that I mean a redhead that's crazy," before rolling her eyes and saying, "Don't pretend like you don't know me. We've all read about it."   So tell me what do you think of the ad?  Does it help Lindsay to poke fun at herself or does it just ad to the "crazy"?

David Beckham Shows Off His 'Aura' – Shirtless, Of Course!

In a statement, Beckham says he loves classic watches, "so a phone that exposes its mechanics while also being so stylish is really unique. Motorola always seem to come up with something different, a concept that no one else has, and they've certainly done that again with AURA."

A behind-the-scenes movie of the shoot has been posted on YouTube.  So tell me does it make you want to go out and grab a Motorola?  And what is it about ads featuring celebrities or sports heroes that make us want to go out and purchase something we most likely don't even need?  Thoughts?

Susan Boyle from Britain's Got Talent

Ms Boyle, a 47-year-old church volunteer, hails from the same West Lothian region of Scotland as the SNP leader.

She won a legion of fans around the world with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables, for the ITV show Britain's Got Talent.

Ms Boyle won over a sceptical audience to become a global phenomenon following her appearance on the show. Her performance has been watched by millions online.

She has been catapulted into the limelight in America, where her story has been featured on US morning shows and news programs.

When she came to the stage I rather found myself pulling for her after noticing the audience reaction to her at first sight.

What can I say, I have always been one to root for the underdog having known first hand how that can be from my early years in life.

Something told me that under that exterior was a breakout star and I was SO happy and cheering along for her when she proved that she's got talent!

Moreover it had me thinking about how we as a people judge others by the way they look or how they hold themselves.  It's rather unfair but even I myself have been guilty of doing it over the years.  I think that in Susan Boyle the world has seen a real lesson to the old adage of "not judging a book by it's cover."

So tell me what do you think?  Is there a life lesson for us here in Susan Boyle?

Ashton Kutcher wins Twitter battle with CNN

Kutcher triumphed over CNN in their much ballyhooed race to be the first to reach a million followers on the microblogging Web site. Kutcher surpassed that benchmark in the early morning hours Friday, narrowly edging out the breaking news feed from the Time Warner Inc.-owned network.

Speaking in a live webcast early Friday, Kutcher took the tone of a revolutionary.
"We have shown the world that the new wave is here," Kutcher said on ustream.tv shortly after passing the million mark. "It is present and it is ready to explode. You guys are all of it because I can't follow me."
Kutcher now has introduced Twitter to Oprah.  Will the current King of Twitter be sorry for introducing the Queen of Media to Twitter and will Oprah become the new reigning champ over him?  She gained more than 130,000 followers in less than a day, suggesting Winfrey — so successful in television, magazines, books and other media — would thrive on yet another platform.

Has the internet taken away from the normal face to face or telephone conversation and what does this mean for the future?
What do you all think?  Do you Twitter or Facebook? Or do you use both?

Woman says she snooped at Spears' home for film

LOS ANGELES -A woman arrested outside Britney Spears' home is a former "American Idol" hopeful who says she's making a paparazzi documentary.
Miranda Tozier-Robbins says she wanted to show the efforts paparazzi go through and she chose Spears because it "might as well be someone I'm interested in."
Deputies arrested the 26-year-old Thursday after security guards caught her peeking into windows at the singer's Calabasas home, wearing camouflage and carrying camera gear.
The Fitchburg, Mass., native responded electronically to a series of questions from The Associated Press on Friday, and confirmed her identity in a phone message. She says she wasn't expecting Spears to be home, but would have tried to sell pictures of the singer if she got any.
How do you feel about this?  Should this woman be locked up and the key thrown away?  Are we know entering an age of Paparazzi Stalkers?   And just because you are a celebrity does that mean that you have to give up rights to your personal life and time?

Lottery Winner Gives Prize to Charity

A Michigan man who won $10,000 in the state lottery's Club Keno game has donated his winnings to a charity.
Soon after winning the money on March 11, Jim Dancy of Richland, Mich., decided others needed it more than he did. So he gave it all to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way.
"I was heavily influenced by my close friend Julie, who taught me to think of others first, and to stop and think about what life is really about. I know the needs in the community are great right now, so for me it was the right thing to do," Dancy said in a statement released by the Michigan Lottery.
'It was the right thing to do,' he says of $10,000 donation to United Way
If you won $10,000, what would you do with the bulk of it?
