Furniture Designed for Plus Sized People

As the obesity rate rises (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that more than a third of adults in the U.S. are obese), companies are looking to capitalize on this growing group of consumers. While plus size clothing is commonplace--Target, Forever 21 and TopShop launched trendy plus size clothing lines already this year--less attention has been paid to the way overweight and obese people live in their homes. Last week BrylaneHome began selling a line of furniture and home accessories called "Plus+ Size Living" which includes oversized bath towels and chairs that hold up to 800 lbs.

And they say that children playing video games all day long and watching TV is nothing to be worried about.

  1. I hope they charge them more for it as they should for taking up two seats on an airlines! In most cases there is NO reason why these people are this size. I totally understand the case of ones who have thyroid or other health ailments but for those who don't, Shame on you!
