Wasilla, Alaska

As you're driving north out of Anchorage, you'll eventually come to this sign, where the left lanes take you north to Wasilla, Talkeetna, and Fairbanks, and the turn to the right will take you to Palmer, and eventually Canada (if you stay on the road long enough).
Ok, why are the light poles SO high?
Driving south to Wasilla offers incredible views, like this one. After a while you think, "Okay, I'm not going to take any more pictures", and then you run into another tremendous view.
Wasilla is a town you go to when you need things, like groceries, or stuff at Wal-Mart. But even Wasilla has tremendous views you won't see elsewhere, as this simple picture shows. What beautiful country!
If you ever find yourself in Wasilla, and you're craving some Mexican food, I highly recommend Senor Taco. From the outside you'll see it in this little strip-mall, and the inside is nothing too special, but the home-cooked food iswonderful.
You say you want a gun? Oh no, we don't sell them here....

You know you're somewhere near Wasilla when you see the Gorilla Fireworks, with this Love Bug parked in the parking lot.
