20th Century Fox has revealed the new trailer for 'Machete,' which is based on the "fake" trailer in Robert Rodriguez's 2007 'Grindhouse,' featuring Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey reprising their original roles.
Directed by Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis, the action film also stars Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal.
Lohan, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail earlier this week, was prominently featured in an early trailer of the film. This go round, you would have to squint to see her name in the credits.
The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (played by Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (played by Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (played by Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (played by De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (played by Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (played by Marin) his "holy" brother, and April (played by Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (played by Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
The film comes out on September 3.
