Ruth Madoff parts with most of her money

Poor Ruth Madoff. She may have known nothing about her husband's fraud. Right.

Mrs. Madoff gave up most of her claims to cash and property she said was hers.According to The Wall Street Journal, she "has agreed to give up her potential claim to more than $80 million worth of assets, keeping just $2.5 million in cash in an agreement reached with federal prosecutors."

Mrs. Madoff may be giving up most of her fortune, but it is a small price to pay. The government could try to prove that she was aware of her husband's actions. Prosecutors may not have proven the case, but it would have tied Mrs. Madoff up in court proceedings for years.

To "get out of jail free", she gives up her homes in three cities and a number of asset and gets to walk away "poor."

Yeah, "poor" my ass!  I'm sure this broad has some money stashed over seas on various accounts and names.  She's no fool.  And you can believe that she isn't ready to live off of 2.5 million either.

Somebody hire a PI to follow her around 24/7 and you'll see.

  1. I think it is absolutely outrageous that our government is allowing her to keep "any" of this stolen money. She has lived extravagantly on this "stolen" money so she should not be allowed to keep any of it. She needs to get a job like most of us and not be permitted to keep this money. So much for our "government" protecting us.

  2. I don't have two nickles to rub togather, and she better not be crying about 2.5 million. She should be counting her blessing I reather walk away poor instead of walking in a federal prison.

  3. And they show a sympathy picture of her riding the subway. With $2.5m, she could afford a cab. What a POS!

  4. I love that it says she gives up most of "her" money. It was never her money. It was never his money. It was stolen.

  6. She shouldn't get a red cent. As his wife and bookkeeper, she should know where all the "bodies" are buried. She shouldn't be allowed to "walk" on this. Go after her with everything this government has got.

  7. She should not be allowed to keep any money. She knew exactly what was going on. She is as guilty as he is. She should pay for this. She could not possibly be SO DUMB as to not know. She should be left as pennyless as THEIR victims.

  10. It's outragous how she getting 2.5 million!! It makes me sick to my stomach, she knew exactly where the money was going when she was putting it in overseas accts where it couldn't be touched or claimed for. I heard on the news this morning that no one wants to rent not even an apartment to this woman, so maybe she will end up in a cardboard box. I rather her be in federal prison, and become somebodies B**ch. And her husband should rot in prison as well, the nerve on him pleading for ony twleve years. The should've thrown the book at both of them.

  11. Don't tell me that a wife doesn't know her husbands business. Strip the money from all of their family & friends. Let Bernie's family live penniless just like everyone he stole from! Put them all under the prison!!
