Michael Cera Gets Awful Hair, Fist Pump Lessons From 'Jersey Shore' Crew

Michael Cera's ('Juno,' 'Superbad,' 'Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist') upcoming bad-boy comedy, 'Youth in Revolt,' takes place largely in New Jersey. So it was only fitting that Cera -- Canadian by birth, Californian by choice -- recently returned to Jersey to promote the new film. But the lovably droll actor didn't take all those bridges and tunnels to hang with the good people of the Garden State, he went to hook up with the cast of MTV's 'Jersey Shore.'

No sooner had Cera arrived than he found himself at the goopy hands -- and too hot hair drier -- of Pauly D. Cera sat in his chair for a hilarious big-hair blow-out that made the actor all but unrecognizable.

With his transformation to Jersey boy almost complete, the cast showed Cera the ins and outs, and ups and downs, and bumps and grinds of a first-rate fist pump. Check it out:

No stranger to toying with his identity on-screen (he played a version of himself in thescripted "documentary" 'Paper Heart'), Cera plays two roles in 'Youth in Revolt,' nice guy Nick Twisp and a bad-boy alter ego by the name of François, whom Twisp creates to help him win over the girl of his dreams, Sheeni Saunders, played by newcomer Portia Doubleday.

Cera's on something of a roll lately. Next up will be 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,' based on the cult graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley, and adapted for the screen by'Shaun of the Dead's' Edgar Wright. Cera will play the titular antihero, while sizzling hot Anna Kendrick ('The Twilight Saga', 'Up in the Air,' Oscar buzz) will do the wifely duties as Mrs. Pilgrim.

'Youth in Revolt' opens nationwide Friday.
