Janet Jackson, Jamie Foxx and Others Pay Tribute to Michael at BET Awards
Ruth Madoff parts with most of her money
Poor Ruth Madoff. She may have known nothing about her husband's fraud. Right.
Mrs. Madoff gave up most of her claims to cash and property she said was hers.According to The Wall Street Journal, she "has agreed to give up her potential claim to more than $80 million worth of assets, keeping just $2.5 million in cash in an agreement reached with federal prosecutors."
Mrs. Madoff may be giving up most of her fortune, but it is a small price to pay. The government could try to prove that she was aware of her husband's actions. Prosecutors may not have proven the case, but it would have tied Mrs. Madoff up in court proceedings for years.
To "get out of jail free", she gives up her homes in three cities and a number of asset and gets to walk away "poor."
Yeah, "poor" my ass! I'm sure this broad has some money stashed over seas on various accounts and names. She's no fool. And you can believe that she isn't ready to live off of 2.5 million either.
Somebody hire a PI to follow her around 24/7 and you'll see.

Court Documents Show 'Real Housewives' Star Was Involved in Kidnapping Plot, Drug Deals and Prostitution
"Real Housewives of New Jersey" lightning rod Danielle Staub has a much more sordid past than she's copped to on Bravo's hit reality show.
Staub, 46, has only admitted to an arrest and to changing her name — after she was exposed in "Cop Without a Badge," a 1995 book about her ex-husband that featured prominently on the show
But according to explosive federal court records posted yesterday on thesmokinggun.com, she was far more deeply involved in a kidnapping plot, a $24,000 drug deal gone bad and an "escort service" than she admitted to on the show.
Danielle has always said her criminal record — which dates back to 1986 — were the mistakes of youth. But the details of the charges against her outlined on official papers are substantial.
Staub, then known as Beverly Ann Merrill — but using the alias Angela Minelli — was arrested along with Daniel Aguilar, whom she met while working for an escort service, according to the reports.
Staub was a courier for Aguilar, who distributed narcotics for a Colombian drug family. If I were the "Real Housewives of NJ" I might button my lips lest they want to be sleeping with the fishes.

Real Housewives Jacqueline and Danielle No Longer Friends
Jacqueline Laurita was the only housewife who came to Danielle Staub's defense during the fiery June 16 Real Housewives of New Jersey Finale Showdown.
"I am not friends with Danielle," Laurita emphatically tells Us Weekly.
Adds the mother-of-three (who welcomed a boy, Nicholas, June 11): "She has never seen the baby, nor will I ever show her. I learned my family was right about her all along."

'Melrose Place' update: Here comes Josie Bissett!
Josie Bissett, who played Jane Andrews Mancini from 1992 to 1999 on the original Melrose Place, will reprise her role with a guest-starring appearance this fall on The CW's reboot of the classic soap. Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, who respectively played Jane's scheming sister Sydney and scheming husband Michael, previously signed on as part of the new cast.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck to Kate Gosselin: 'Get a job!'
This morning on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that Jon & Kate Plus Eight should no longer exist ("They shouldn't have a show") and that Kate Gosselin should "get a job." When co-host Sherri Shepherd noted that the Gosselins had essentially given up their jobs to work for their reality show -- i.e., that this, in addition to parenting, isKate's job -- Hasselbeck said vehemently, "I don't care!... It's not healthy for the kids."
"Get the camera off the kids!" said Hasselbeck.
Barbara Walters, who was the only person on the View panel who admitted to watching Jon & Kate, said that she thought that "if you have more than five children, you shouldn't be allowed to get divorced."
The audience applauded enthusiastically.
Do you agree with Hasselbeck?

R.I.P. Ed McMahon
Ed McMahon has passed away at 86, according to reports.
He died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California this morning.
He is best known as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show" and his infamous catchphrase, "Heeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!" Not to mention those campy Colonial Penn Commercials from the 80's & 90's. And I should know those, I used to work for Intramerica Life Insurance Company - a subsidiary of the Colonial Penn Group and I used to hate when people would call and say that Mr. McMahon told them that they won a million dollars! I'd then have to tell them that they had received a Publisher's Clearing House letter and not one from our insurance company which he too represented as a paid endorsee of our products. In most cases these 80-90 year olds just didn't get it and hung up only to call back later.
McMahon also hosted "Star Search" and "TV Bloopers And Practical Jokes" with Dick Clark. Well, here to you Ed! RIP.

More Jon & Kate Drama????
Just when it seemed we were finally getting answers in the Jon and Kate saga, there’s more. Minutes after their special “announcement” episode aired, Kate and Jon released individual statements implying there’s much more to the story!
Kate Gosselin released the following statement to PEOPLE magazine Monday night:
“Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children. While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children.”
Jon released his own statement to the magazine as well:
“This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that. This will be a difficult transition for all of us, but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing.”
Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland': First-look photos are pretty darn stunning
The first photos from director Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland are online, and man, are they stunning. In addition to portraits of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Helena Bonham-Carter as the Red Queen (pictured), USA Today has some panoramic concept art from the film which will combine live-action and stop-motion and CG animation, and eventually be transferred to 3-D. (It's set to premiere March 5 next year.) What do you think -- is it living up to your expectations? Or does it remind you a bit too much of Burton's candy-colored wonderland from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
Bryan Fuller exits 'Heroes'
Just as Heroes was gaining some creative momentum comes word of another setback: Bryan Fuller has vacated his post as consulting producer.
The acclaimed Pushing Daisies auteur has left to focus on developing new projects for NBC, and not (as some have speculated) due to creative differences with series creator Tim Kring.
"I'm crafting two pilots right now and it's a lot of work," admits Fuller, who has an overall deal with NBC. "It was just too hard to [juggle] Heroes and my development; something had to give."
Fuller returned to Heroes last December, shortly after ABC dropped the ax on Daisies. Many (yours truly included) credited him with the show's end-of-season creative rebirth. I'm thinking that Fuller should take Pushing Daisies to NBC and Bring it back to life! Pun intended.
Reaction to Fuller's exit? Are you as bummed as I am? Sound off below!

Jon and Kate Gosselin file for divorce
People.com is reporting that Jon and Kate Gosselin filed divorce papers in Pennsylvania today to end their 10-year marriage. It has been widely anticipated that the couple will use tonight's episode of Jon & Kate Plus Eight to announce their split, based on press reports and suspicious spots promoting the one-hour episode on TLC.
Family Split Apart by Deportation
Elvira was not a U.S. citizen, she crossed the border illegally, twice. She had no legal rights to be in the United States, but what about the rights of her son? Does he have a right to be with his mom?
Certain individuals born in the United States, such as children of foreign heads of state or children of foreign diplomats, do not obtain U.S. citizenship under jus soli.
Also individuals born outside of the United States are born citizens because of their parents, according to the principle of jus sanguinis (which holds that the country of citizenship of a child is the same as that of his / her parents).
The children are all U.S. citizens and say their constitutional rights are being violated because they, too, will likely have to leave the country if their parents are forced to leave.

Jon & Kate to Make Announcement on Monday Show
Are Jon and Kate Gosselin announcing a divorce?
"Recently we've made some life-changing decisions," Kate says in a voiceover on a new TLC promo for a one-hour Jon & Kate Plus 8 episode to air Monday. "Decisions that will affect every member of our family...ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace."
Phrases like "A relationship at a crossroads" and "Where do they go from here?" also flash across the screen during the 30-second promo. Such phrases might be setting the viewers up for a divorce announcement OR will they pull a fake out and go straight to a marriage counselor? Just the way it is shot it seems to much like a set up to me. As if they posed this way and that way.
Then of course there is the other option... bringing in the Octomom as a special guest star for the rest of the season. LOL
Ryan Seacrest, Lindsay Lohan Meet to Plan Reality Show
Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan were spotted out together in Hollywood Thursday night, but it turns out that their meetup was strictly business.
"Met with Lindsay last night about a show idea I have for her…it helps people and gives others a second shot!" Ryan wrote on his Twitter page on Friday, one day after he and the actress went to H.Wood in L.A. "Still putting it all together."
The American Idol host is no stranger to producing. In addition to his radio hosting gig, the star has lent his TV production talents to E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians as well asBrody Jenner MTV show, Bromance.
Lohan also mentioned details of the project on her Twitter page Friday.
"Working on a really great project for television -- I am excited!" she wrote. "Something meaningful like Extreme Home Makeover on ABC… :)"
The premise of the potential series is that real people who are on the wrong track and looking for a second chance are given $1 million to make it happen. Lohan, no stranger to the concept, would likely serve on a panel of judges who hear contestants' stories.

Toothpick City Took 34 Years to Build
NBC News going the way of reality shows?
THE staff at NBC News isn't younger and hotter than the staffs at other network news operations -- it just seems that way. Sources say that when Brian Williams left his desk to deliver Wednesday's nightly broadcast from the middle of the newsroom, producers brought in some ringers. "NBC newsroom staffers don't look like Vogue staffers," said one source. "So they asked less attractive, heavier staffers to move seats and allow younger, thinner members of the staff to act as extras." The "extras," including two interns who normally run errands, were told to sit up straight, look busy and keep their computers on the MSNBC Web site. "No porn behind Brian," our source laughed. An NBC rep denied any reality-altering: "The majority of the people seen on the newscast are the same people who are there every night." As for the interns? "They were serving a purpose. They were helping out with the broadcast."
'Barrel monster' gains following, from North Carolina to South Korea
The Barrel Monster, a playful statue made of orange and white construction barrels, only had a few hours of life but is basking in popularity as news spreads of its suspected creator's arrest by Raleigh police.
In the week since Joseph Carnevale, a student at North Carolina State University, was arrested June 10, both he and the Barrel Monster have attracted attention from around the country, and even the world.
The monster's image was broadcast on national television networks Thursday amid coverage of the mass street demonstrations in Iran to protest the disputed election there. An interview with Carnevale aired that afternoon on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered," a national radio program.
Nearly 3,000 people have joined a page on Facebook, the social networking site, urging Wake prosecutors to drop the charges.
I love this Barrel Monster - perhaps the makers of the construction barrels should use it as a logo or something and pay Carnevale for the idea.

Adam Lambert and Madonna Duet in the works??
Think about it: Earlier this week, it was reported that Adam had logged studio time with Lady Gaga producer RedOne, so despite his rocker tendencies, theIdol runner-up is clearly not afraid of getting his dance on. And now, if you will, let your mind travel back to Madonna's seminal 1998Ray of Light CD -- yes we are all that old -- an electronica extravaganza that still managed to keep a foot in guitar-rock genre. Suddenly, I'm thinking Adam and Madge could team up for a cover of "Candy Perfume Girl" or "Drowned World/Substitute for Love," or best of all "Swim" (embedded after the jump for the uninitiated).
Not only would the hookup make sense musically, but it would also be a smart career move. For Adam, a Madonna duet would give him instant credibility outside the Idol universe -- something he'll need to break through the anti-Idol prejudice held by many a radio-station programmer. For Madonna, being the first superstar artist to hit the studio with Adam would attach her to a young, exciting artist without the appearance that she's suddenly become a follower instead of a leader (a problem that gave "Me Against the Music" and "4 Minutes to Save the World" a slight whiff of desperation). Plus, girlfriend could use some fresh gay-cred points, no?
What do you think? Would an Adam-Madonna collaboration be a match made in musical heaven, or an aural abomination? And which artist would benefit more from a duet?
Barack Obama: 'I Have Been an Imperfect Father'
President Barack Obama has written a heartfelt Father's Day message acknowledging his own shortcomings as a dad to daughters Malia, 10, Sasha, 8.

Susan Boyle Cancels Another Concert
Susan Boyle canceled her Thursday performance in Liverpool – the second time she has missed a show on the current Britain's Got Talenttour, after she failed to appear on stage last weekend in Manchester.
"She had a rest day," says her rep of this latest cancellation, while a source adds that, contrary to some reports, Boyle was not pining for her cat at home. "She certainly wasn't shouting out for Pebbles," says her rep.
